Hi, kids! Sorry for the unusually tardy post, but I've had a busy morning.

Today, I had an eye exam for the first time in about a quarter century.

I need reading glasses.

---

This is the first time in my whole life I've ever needed visual assistance of any kind.

I can't grow my arms, so it's reading glasses time.

John's making me adorn myself with them using a chain, because he knows I would lose my own head if it weren't already fastened on with wood screws.

---

The optometrist was very nice and gentle and extremely understanding. She explained what she was doing, and said I performed well in my vision tests.

I winced when we did the nice yellow sticky glaucoma drops, and I got a little too squirmy when the microscope zoomed in past my eyelashes, but other than that things went well.

The guy behind the desk knows his stuff, so he flitted around and found three pairs of frames that would look good on me. Now, I've seen people waste everybody's time by trying to pick out eyeglass frames themselves, when they might not have enough knowledge about fraces and frame shapes to be able to do so; I had never intended to choose my own frames cold turkey, preferring instead to actually make the eyeglass expert choose the first cut.

I chose the third one; the bottom of the frames are not visible in my field of vision, and the frames themselves match my hair.

We go to pick them up later; they will call when the glasses are ready.

---

Overall, for a first exam, things went well. I do indeed need reading glasses, and my left eye is a little worse than my right eye.

I had no idea of this, until I was there having each eyeball examined separately. I'm told that otherwise, my eyes are very healthy.

---

So, there ya go. Sorry for boring medical neepery, but that's what I did today. :-) Have a good rest of your Monday, and when the specs are done, I'll take my peek sure and share with the class.
