Behold A Miracle

Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 - 7:38 a.m.

We got an invitation in the mail to my father's sister and her husband's 50th wedding anniversary.

Had my parents lived, this would also be the year of their own 50th.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Landermans again!

Congratulations to Marcia and Lonnie Hemenway.

My husband works in the insurance industry.

What he does for a living, specifically, is to make sure that companies who pollute the environment clean it up.

Obviously, right now, this is the most politically correct job in the entirety of western civilization, even though he's been doing this for twenty years.

He and I were talking earlier this morning, and he happened to notice the signature that appears on my outgoing email:

Everytime you use your printer, God kills a tree.
Please. Think of the trees. .. oh, he he he HA HA HA HA
Sorry, but I can't keep a straight face when I write this!.. Heh heh...

Because as you know, I'm a cynic when it comes to most of the horseshit the envrionmental googoos try to pull.

When John saw it, he chuckled and he grunched the following information to me.

This kind of thing, the "Please think before you print this email" fluff? It's not making a bit of difference.

He is in the insurance business, which means that ninety percent of the correspondence and files he deals with require a computer copy, AND a hard copy.

Most of the businesses he deals with every day also have this same rule.

Then again he's also enchanted by the charming fiction of the 'Service Makes The Difference' signature file on all of the email from AIG.

Once in awhile, I wake up and behold a miracle. Today is one of those times.

---

Okay, that's it. Have a good Tuesday!
