Nuts

Wednesday, Mar. 18, 2009 - 12:31 a.m.

Well, nuts.

The ferry trip isn't happening after all, at least not on the 20th.

Originally, a tentative plan was to have me get up to Vacaville for the early part of Friday, stay through Friday night, and crash somewhere up there.

The crash space didn't work out, and I don't have any way to get back to SF except by the Ferry, which I couldn't secure a ride back to in a timely fashion on Saturday morning that didn't involve a bunch of three-card-monty with the schedules of too many people, so..?

Fuck it. Just... meh.

We'll do it another time.

John really gets fascinating when I'm about to leave the house and go and do something for the first time.

I know it's just his way of worrying, but wow, I practically had to fill out forms in triplicate before he'd relax about me attempting to learn how to use the Ferry system.

The best question of the evening: "Are you sure there's a place to buy tickets for the Ferry in the Ferry Building?"

He climbed up onto the high furniture for a few minutes when I said "No, I have no idea," but here's my thinking on this.

The Ferry Building in San Francisco is named after a method of transportation.

That method of transportation takes place there in the harbor, right next to that building.

By extrapolation, I was assuming that there was probably someplace right there in the Ferry Building that sold ferry tickets. I just wasn't that worried about it.

Fortunately, though, there was a website with ticket seller listings, and I showed it to John, and when he saw that, yes, the Ferry Building *does* have a ticket sales area, there was peace in the valley once more.

You guys should have been here.

That's it. Have a good Wednesday!
