Braniac Friday

Saturday, Mar. 21, 2009 - 12:09 a.m.

In the Braniac department...

I space pretty badly on Friday afternoon.

And by that, I mean even more than I usually do.

I use an ancient device called a 'VCR' to 'tape' my weekday television shows.

One of them is General Hospital. The other one is Jeopardy.

Where I live, GH is broadcast at 2:00 pm, and Jeopardy comes on at 7. John and I watch Jeopardy together while we eat dinner. And *usually* I wait until after John shambles off to bed to have a look at the soap.

But Friday, I decided to tune in early. I taped GH, began watching it in the late afternoon, and then at 5:30 pm, about fifteen minutes in to the episode, I took a telephone call and was on the phone for more than an hour and a half.

During that hour and a half, the VCR dutifully recorded Jeopardy.

And took a nice crunchy thirty-minute bite out of the middle of a Friday episode of my soap.

However, it didn't cut the very end off, and there was a very cool reveal. Or at least it seemed so.

On Monday, I am going to leave it alone until Jeopardy is done taping.

Featured Chat Excerpt:

Alan: Okay, you are onboard for background vocals and a couple of leads? And keyboards when you know the song?

Me: Yes, that's right. Kind of silly that I won't be available on Fridays until April 17th, tho.

[There is no practice on the 27th, and he knows cotton pickin' well that I'm out of town on the 3rd and 10th]

Alan: So what you're telling me is that you are slacking ALREADY? Before we've even all PRACTICED TOGETHER?

Me: Shut up.

So as you can see, this is going to work out just fine.

---

That's pretty much it. Have a good Saturday!
