Elvis & The King

Monday, Apr. 13, 2009 - 1:02 a.m.

Last night, Easter Sunday night, Old Buddy Dave and I went to Disneyland to see our favorite Elvis tribute artist, Scot Bruce.

I wore my bunny ears, and Dave wore his Elvis glasses. These are the plastic sunglasses with the aviator frames and the fake fuzzy sideburns.

Dave wears these on stage with the Bob Chance band whenever he's doing Elvis songs.

Here is a photo from my cell phone with the contrast cranked up:

We watched the fireworks, and then headed over to the Tomorrowland Terrace.

---

The show started, and Scot and the band were in fine form -- and suddenly, Scot spotted Dave.

And he pointed down and the crowd near us looked where Scot was pointing, and he said "Hey, it's the KING!" and Dave said "Thankyaverramudge!"

At some point during the audience participation, Scot took another long look at Dave and said "Oh, the King SINGS, too!"

True to form, the band did a great job and Scot Bruce was as amazing as ever -- but until he actually mentioned Dave, I had never been sure just quite how much attention he'd been paying to the individual members of the audience.

I'm impressed all over again with this very cool performer.

And Dave? Dave is still trying to believe this really happened.

But I was there, and yes, it did.

---

That's it. Have a good Monday.
