Friends Not Food

Friday, May. 08, 2009 - 12:37 a.m.

Hey, did you guys know that Andrew, our Andrew, of Diaryland fame, is a fan of The Little Mermaid, and baked a cake in her likeness?

I was astounded at the resemblance, because frankly, he did a better job than I ever could.

---

Okay, next, if all goes well, tonight I will be watching Keane in concert.

Yay. I sure hope (and fear) they don't play too much crap from the recent CD.

The recent CD sounds exactly like it was released in order to pay for a stint in rehab.

I'll still wish them lots of luck and enjoy the show, honest.

---

There are some moments in IMs that just need to be shared.

Here's a recent excerpt you might enjoy!

Me:
How are the cats doing with each other?

Dave:
Pretty good. Solange is on a bookcase. Laila is curled up on the floor with one of my slippers.

Me:
That sounds pretty co-operative. If there's been no injuries while you've been gone I doubt they'll put on a show for you while you watch, but you're still very good to watch them when you can.

Dave:
Mmmm...two girls rolling on the floor, putting on a show while I watch... [pause]...I'm sorry, what?

See? I couldn't let you miss that.

---

Saw the most recent ad for Pop Tarts. Their new motto is "Pop Tarts Are Made For Fun"

And John chimed in and said "Well, yeah, I mean we don't want to mistake them for actual food."

Whereupon the Shark Pledge from Finding Nemo morphed into

Pop Tarts Are Friends, Not Food.

And that wasn't funny at all and I guess you had to be there so never mind.

---

Okay, there we are. Have a good Friday.
