New Camera

Thursday, May. 14, 2009 - 12:12 a.m.

Yesterday, I'd doffed my duds and had the shower fixture turned on and ready to use and ALL of a sudden here was UPS.

The delivery was at around a quarter to seven at night.

I am certain there is a skin / porcelain / water corollary involved.

---

What arrived yesterday was a new camera.

Well, I mean, new in the box, but about a year and a half old as far as production goes.

It's an Olympus FE-310, which uses the same AA batteries and XD cards as my D-390 does, except it's 8 megapixels instead of two and I can use 1-Gigabyte cards for storage instead of 32 Mb cards.

I'm all set for the next time I see Keane, that's for sure.

There'd been some gripes in the reviews about battery usage, but I use rechargeables and am having no problems; I sat here with a pair of fresh from the charger Energizer 2500 batteries, and took twenty flash pictures without a low battery indicator in sight.

I predict this is going to be a good camera.

But just for sure, my D-390 is safely stashed here in the electronics drawer.

---

My bass and amp and related etceteras will be here on Friday.

I can hardly wait!

---

I also finished my writing assignment, which should have taken a hell of a lot less time than it did, but oh well. It's done.

It was one side of one page and it stymied me. I spent almost two weeks dithering around with that thing.

Had I written eight pages, I would have finished in an hour. Go figure.

---

Reminder for those who give a patoot: Tonight is the last episode of this cycle of Hell's Kitchen.

I'm pulling for Danny, but I'll be okay if Paula wins it.

---

That's it. Have a good Thursday.
