Intercom & Kudos

Saturday, May. 23, 2009 - 12:00 a.m.

Happy Saturday, readers.

Okay. I know FARK always has its own headlines of the week selections, but this is my personal favorite.

---

Yesterday morning, I found yet another UPS Murphy Switch: I made myself a bagel with cream cheese and garlic powder and was halfway through it.

And of course, there went the intercom.

I warned the guy and told him he could just sort of shove the parcel toward me across the hall carpeting and fake my signature if he wanted to, but he was brave and handed it right to me and had me sign the Uhura Thing myself.

So, kudos to that very brave guy.

---

John and I had a nice visit with Art yesterday afternoon! I am glad John and Art finally got to meet.

---

Sports: Despite the fact that I crushed Ichiro's head like Dave did last September, the Mariners won in 12 innings over the Giants last night.

But at least while *I* was watching, Ichiro didn't get on base. Mua ha ha ha...

---

On Tuesday, the California State Supreme Court will issue its ruling about the legality of Proposition 8.

Before anybody opens their cake hole about how the majority of voters ruled in favor of Prop 8, that makes no difference, as our fair state once voted to allow housing restrictions when it came to non-whites and the state supreme court had enough sense to overrule THAT discriminatory nonsense, too.

Just because a bunch of people do a bad thing, that doesn't make it less bad.

At first I thought, wow, what a bunch of lazy bastids, waiting until after the long weekend to issue this ruling.

Then I found out that Tuesday will be Harvey Milk's birthday.

So I guess the wait will be okay.

---

Okay, that's it. Have a good Saturday!
