Think Good Thoughts Sunday, Jun. 14, 2009 - 1:01 a.m. As the title suggests, please think good thoughts for me today and for Alan; Todd will be joining us for band practice for the first time, and wow, I hope he does really well. --- Yesterday afternoon when we were at Westlake Shopping Center, we saw their security company doing this: This picture was taken after the security guard had parked his car in another NO PARKING zigzag with less than six inches of space between his car and John's. John told the guard he needed to move, and it took several tries before the fellow understood what the problem was. Or at least we thought he understood until he parked in yet another NO PARKING area of the lot. When John got home, he called Westlake's offices, which are closed because it's Saturday, and it kicked over to the security company itself. John explained that there was a potential liability issue: Suppose the security guard had parked up against a car in a handicapped zone, and the handicapped zone user had been an older person who needed to get into their car to retrieve their heart medicine, or get back onto their oxygen. The security company seemed to take this to heart, so we'll see what happens. Hopefully the security staff will receive some retraining -- and maybe even some parking spaces of their very own. --- That's it. Have a good Sunday. ---
