Bob Chance Reunion Tour Sunday, Jul. 05, 2009 - 10:32 a.m. The Bob Chance Band was wonderful last night, with the new bassist Cal Greer at the helm. When I saw how small and hot the work area was, I didn't blame Kern at all for deciding to beat feet. Kern has MS, and needs a wider, more airy space in which to work. The so-called 'new and improved' venue is now making a three piece band play in the space of a one-person piano bar: Bob in foreground, Dave in middle, Cal to Dave's left. Everybody is practically sitting in each other's laps, and the bass neck is in danger of sending people's drinks clattering to the floor. It's a really claustrophobic setup. But all things considered, Cal is doing a really good job. And it was a wonderful night, and a genuine pleasure to see everybody again. --- I hope all of you had a wonderful Fourth, and were able to do whatever you chose to do. Take care, and have a magnificent Sunday. ---
