Online Friendships Rock

Monday, Jul. 27, 2009 - 1:36 a.m.

Here's my favorite of the pictures of me with Drag Princess Abby:

Now, if you looked at this and thought, "Whoah, BEWBZ!" well, yeah. She and I are both pretty fortunate in that department.

I have mostly had amazing luck when it's come to meeting online friends; all the way back to my text-only days from about twenty years ago.

Of course we'd seen pics of each other, what with the new fangled inter tubes and all, but an image is a paltry imitation of a real three dimensional person, and the hilarity, brilliance and wonderment that is Drag Princess Abby can never actually be conveyed by a picture beforehand.

We got along instantaneously, and I predict that she and I will probably be dear friends for as long as we can stand it.

---

One of the nice things that happened was that when we were driving hither and yon with Abby, she kept being amazed and overwhelmed by the sights we had been taking for granted.

John and I are looking at the beauty of San Francisco through her eyes, and seeing things again for the first time, if that makes any sense.

---

There just wasn't another thing that could have happened within the space of time we visited that could have made it more perfect.

Abby, if you see this, thank you SO MUCH for the great afternoon; John and I were absolutely graced by your presence. :)

---

In other news, My Best Friend I've Never Met is having a birthday today!

Love you, Jamie -- AF&U!!!

---

That's it. Have a good Monday.

I'll have some really cool band news tomorrow!
