Listen To This

Tuesday, Jul. 28, 2009 - 1:05 a.m.

Sunday's practice was the best that the band has had since Kevin and Tom had to leave.

We have been together with this current lineup for six weeks, since Todd joined us in mid-June.

What this means is that we've all been in the same room at the same time for around twelve hours total.

However, because everybody is so dedicated and is having so much fun -- we've already managed to get enough material done to do a ninety-minute show.

Tah Dah!

---

Something we're considering adding to end of the practice sessions, depending on if we have time, is taking turns picking out songs on our iPods to play for the rest of the group.

Not neccesarily as a method of selecting new songs to put on the set list, but just so we can get to know each other better.

And I'm not thinking in terms of that Team Building Feel Good Nineties crap, either. More of a Hey, Listen To This.

I'd actually been kind of doing that during the drive from Vellejo to Vacaville -- commandeering the audio input setup for Alan's vehicle and letting him hear what I've been listening to when I'm not listening to band songs.

And then on Sunday, Todd played a couple of songs for us that he liked, when practice was through and verily we did enjoyeth.

So I think we as a band are gonna try and do this if not on a regular basis, then at least every so often.

---

The new drummer has received the set list that we need him to work on, and he tries out on Saturday.

We're looking forward to meeting and working with him. Dunno if he's hauling his own kit over or gonna play on Alan's existing one that's already set up.

Either wiil work, so it's all good.

---

That's the latest. Have a nice Tuesday!
