Bass Breakthrough Wednesday, Jul. 29, 2009 - 12:22 a.m. Yesterday I had an epiphany regarding one of the songs we're doing. My breakthrough had to do with the song "Come Together". This is NOT a song in which you can improvise the bass line if you don't know what the actual official notes are. It is complicated and unique and basically, if you do NOT know the bass line note for note, forget it. So, I spent my waking hours on Tuesday practing the bass line for it. And according to John, who has been listening patiently -- he says I've finally learned it. Whew. It was one of the more intimidating pieces, that's for sure. --- I had been coughing when I was waking up. I don't have a cold, and this doesn't quite feel like one of my regular sensitivities. Then Tuesday night, we found out what just might have been causing my problem. John blew into the little fan on top of the bedroom tee and vee. And I swear to you -- it looked like one of those baby-powder-loaded props from The Munsters. So the fan got dusted -- a LOT. We think this has solved my coughing problem. --- There ya go. Have a good Wednesday. ---
