Skip's Tavern Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 - 1:02 a.m. Monday evening, my boss Alan and I went and saw Mike T Bassist at Skip's Tavern in San Francisco. It's the penultimate little hole in the wall where secretly excellent music is played, and the official Master of Ceremonies is Regi Harvey. Alan brought his gear, plugged in, and I took a couple of photos with the flash off; this is the best of a bad lot:
This session lasted until around ten, then there was a break and another artist came on; a young guy playing Ska, but with very Hispanic influences. It's hard to explain. But he was good. After, there was a BS session with the musicians, and then finally we left and Alan saw me safely home. Skip's is a real find, and if you are a musician who wants to jam, bring something to play and show up on pretty much any Monday night. --- Nothing else to report about. Have an excellent Tuesday, friends. ---
