Rethinking Wednesday, Sept. 09, 2009 - 4:31 a.m. What a day yesterday. Our new drummer was forced to quit, because he now has to work on Sundays. He was just getting familiar with the material, too. Drat. Poor guy. The fellow who answered the ad the other day and wanted to come and jam? He changed his mind as well. So yesterday's regularly scheduled business call was full of news for Alan. The boss is seriously rethinking what he's going to do with the band, at least for awhile. He says that we don't have to be in a hurry to gig, and that he's probably going to have the tattered remnants of the band helping him with original work instead through the winter. I am up for this. --- I also finished my participation, at least for the time being, in the APA I've been in off and on since 1995. APA equals Amateur Press Association. Each participant writes their part of the issue, sends in their pages to a master editor, and the editor takes everybody's contribs and collates and staples them and mails them out to each participant. Being part of this group has been nice, but right now, I can't give the APA the time it deserves, so I said as much in my most recent issue (thank you John for copying it and sending it out), wished everybody well, and told them where they could find me online. --- Had a little fun over in a musicians' database -- I registered, adjusted the parameters of what kind of people we were looking for, and found two people that seemed perfect and then I looked at their info. First, I found The Admiral, who sat in with us in the springtime. Second, I also found the guy who answer the ad the other day and wanted to come and jam. Go figure. --- Jeopardy this week has been a real treat. On Monday, the very first broadcast was rerun (September 10th, 1984!) and on Tuesday, the final episode of the five-game run of blind player Eddie Timanus was featured. Can't wait to find out what's in store for tonight! --- That's pretty much it. Have a good Wednesday. ---
