Recliner & Gratitude Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 - 12:10 a.m. Well, here I am, speaking to you from the confines of my recliner. Old Buddy Dave was a fantastic host, and the visit was as good as it could have been with an injured right leg. Thank you, OB. You rock, as usual. --- The flight home yesterday was all right, except for a small delay. We had an awesomely funny pilot, too, who assured us he didn't have a laptop up in the cabin, but that if we spent more than an hour and ten minutes in the air, to please have the flight attendants come wake him up. --- Homecoming was great. John and I had to take the San Mateo bridge home, which added about an hour to the proceedings, but it was a pretty good drive. We sat up and watched the original 1973 movie version of The Wicker Man, and we also watched It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Pizza for dinner, and early into the sack. --- Happy Samhain. Today is my new year. I am grateful for old friends, and I'm grateful for new friends. Every day that I am on this side of the dirt has been a blessing, even if there are better and worse days. I still love waking up, and I still believe in miracles and I don't ever know what's around the next bend, which is the best part of still being here to enjoy my life. Happy Halloween, and for those who observe it, Happy New Year's --- That's it. Have a good Saturday. ---
