Up & Down Weekend

Monday, Dec. 07, 2009 - 12:22 a.m.

I had a weird weekend.

Saturday, I got up at Fuck You O Clock in the morning along with Omaha Dave, and we went shopping.

Kind thanks to John and to Barbara, who allowed us to each ditch our spouses and go for a store crawl.

Everything about the day went swimmingly, until Omaha Dave got it into his system that Saturday between eleven and noon would be a *perfect* time to look for a place to park near the Ferry Building and have lunch there. I advised against this, but his mind was made up because after all, he's from out of town, and therefore he knows more about parking in San Francisco than a resident of San Francisco does.

He scoffed at my suggestion to bring the car back to our neighborhood and have John drop us off for a couple of hours.

His words were something along the lines of seeing it as a sort of defeat.

Actually, no, I'll tell you what defeat feels like.

Defeat is being trapped in a car with a dick savant who makes his mind up before having all the facts, and who doesn't give two farts in a martini about his passenger's blood sugar.

I threw in the towel after about twenty minutes of driving around, and asked to be taken home because when I crash, I crash bad, and need to go to sleep.

Omaha Dave was duly peninent, and I accepted his apology and all is well. And he's promised to do better next time

I'm going to be optimistic and hope he's not as bossy next time.

---

But on Sunday, I got to go work on music with Alan.

The predicted storms were looming to the right and left of the vessel as we crossed. The water chopped a little, but it was a wonderful journey to make.

I hadn't done that in four weeks, so it was wonderful to see him and Dee and the kids again.

The nice part is that I get to go back and do this very same thing in a week!

The whole trip there and back is always amazing.

---

The rain has been wonderful.

I have a feeling that I might not be saying this in a week, but I am enjoying it now.

---

That's pretty much it.

Here's hoping the storms don't dither with my electricity.

Have a nice Monday.
