New Leaf My Ass Wednesday, Dec. 09, 2009 - 12:32 a.m. Dinner last night was at last potstickers over rice. Tonight will be hamburgers and crinkly fries. Not just any old burgers, though, but my special hamburgers with garlic and basil, the old married couple of the spice universe. --- Also, last night, while watching A Year Without A Santa Claus, I made the incredulous discovery that I still have the "Heat Miser / Snow Miser" lyrics memorized. If all goes well, I'll be forty five years old next spring. --- I told Alan that "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" was a story about a battle of the bands. He sounded doubtful, but in the end, I *think* he took my word for it. --- Okay, everybody take a break and go listen to the song "Steppin' Out" by Joe Jackson. Now, do a butt dance for me -- because I learned THAT bass line last night. --- The Nissan Leaf. Allegedly a zero emission car. Excuse me, but this is yet another pile of greenie bullshit. No car is zero emission. Batteries go landfills, and their own manufacturing processes are toxic. And many of the power plants generating the electricity this sort of car would use are heated by coal. A zero emission car would have to be made of paper, use a gyroscope, and be pedalled at stoplights to store energy. Until that exists, don't blabber at me about zero emissions. --- Okay, there. Done. Have a good Wednesday. ---
