Freedom Of Strength

Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 - 12:15 a.m.

Yesterday's work with Alan was really fun. We got lots done and listened to the day's work in the car on the way home.

It was a pleasure to see Dee and the girls as well.

Miranda has perfect pitch like her dad. And two-year-old Grace sat next to me on the Big People Bench for awhile.

---

Over on Facebook, my beloved father-in-law has joined a group asking for the removal of the 'Soldiers Aren't Heroes' Facebook group.

This is the same guy who didn't want an alleged movie called 'Corpus Christi' about Jesus being depicted as homosexual to exist or be patronized. He also declared that he wasn't going to open any mail with an Eid commemorative stamp on it, and has since opened three Christmas cards of ours. Now he wants an anti-military Facebook group to be deleted.

What kind of strength of character or assuredness of faith does a person have, if there are no challenges to either of those?

And with regards to the specific Facebook group, didn't people in the military take an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States Of America? That piece of paper that guarantees freedom of expression?

By requesting suppression / elimination of an idea? That's at least as insulting to me, a daughter of a Marine, as a flag-burning.

Oh, well.

There ya go. Have a good Monday.
