Seven Years Here

Friday, Mar. 19, 2010 - 12:03 a.m.

In a couple of days, I will have been here at Diaryland for seven years.

This is one of the first Friday Fives I ever did, so I thought on the anniversary, I'd repost it with a couple of modifications.

Explain why you started to journal/blog.

A: I began this journal as part of a recovery process from being manipulated and emotionally abused by a person claiming to be Andy Bell, the lead singer of Erasure. My feelings needed to go someplace, and due to his own difficulties with this problem person, my husband didn't feel like listening to me talk about the Erasure impostor anymore, so I came here to Diaryland instead. Eventually, the journal has evolved into its present form.

Do people you interact with day to day or family members know about your journal/blog? Why or why not?

A: Anybody who wants to read this journal is welcome to do so. My assumption is that if you come here and read my words, that you're interested in my feelings. If something I say bothers you, then remember that nobody forces you to read my work.

Do you have a theme for your journal/blog?

A: You mean like, a template? Not really. Since I live about six long blocks away from the Pacific Ocean, and I can hear the breakers when the window is open at night, the name seemed obvious to me.

What direction would you like to have your journal/blog go in over the next year?

A: Nothing in particular, just the ongoing adventures of a moderately insane housewife in San Francisco.

Pimp five of your favorite Websites:

1. FARK
2. BBC News
3. Google News
4. Wikipedia
5. Facebook

Link is to the left if you wanna dig around in my Friday Five archive, and thank you in advance for not asking me Why I Didn't Include Such And Such Website in my five faves.

That's it. Have a good Friday.

And thanks a bunch for continuing to visit Diaryland.
