Bass Emotions Monday, Apr. 19, 2010 - 12:33 a.m. An intriguing bag of Lincoln Logs recently got emptied onto my lap. Long story short, although the long story isn't too long because there's nothing dramatic about it -- I am now the bass player in Alan's band. Mike T Bassist wants me to go ahead and attempt this with his blessing; we're switching practices to Saturdays, and Mike, bless his heart, actually has other band commitments on Saturdays, so he's patted me on the head and shoved me on through this particular door with all the best wishes and advice I could have possibly hoped for. Frankly, this sounds like the most fun I could possibly have, but then there's part of me that's scared shitless. Before, it was a lark, and I could sigh and be relieved and put my gear away when Mike got there and began unloading gear. That feeling is now officially retired. Eek! --- In other news, John and I had a nice weekend where we got caught up on our viewing, and he introduced me to a sweet movie called Mr Lucky, featuring Cary Grant. We also watched Long Night's Journey Into Day, which is one of our favorite Dick Van Dyke episodes. --- I'm starting to unpack, and as always, I am very fortunate that my socks don't have opposable thumbs. --- Sorry not a big post. Have a good Monday. ---
