Amazed Monday, Jul. 05, 2010 - 12:31 a.m. Hey, I hope everybody had a good Fourth of July. John and I maintained various degrees of dress, and ate fourteen doughnuts between us as part of the festivities. He and I also watched the boxed DVD PBS series Liberty!, as our tradition demanded. --- Speaking of DVDs -- our ten year old DVD carousel finally ate a DVD last night and refuses to regurgitate it. Everything in the world is closed today, so as soon as it opens tomorrow, we'll see about finding an electronics place that will be willing to open the machine and retrieve the runaway. --- I was saddened to hear about the passing of the author of one of my regular reads, awittykitty. Pat phrases would ring hollowly since I didn't know her except through her writing, but her perspective will be missed. --- In other kind of slightly more upbeat news, we are continuing to be completely amazed and satisfied with the DSL service. Even if it's not the fastest service we could have obtained, it's still better than dial-up by a mile. --- Nothing else to report. Have a good Monday! ---
