Friday 5 & Robb Murphy

Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 - 12:32 a.m.

This one is a little more interesting to me than most:

1. What were your three favorite songs ten years ago?

The Road Ahead -- City To City
Modular Mix -- Air
De Laaste Zomer Van De Eeuw -- Rob De Nijs

2. What songs or groups from ten years ago did you love then, but don't like anymore?

I was more into Eminem back then, but not as much now. It's nothing he's done wrong, though. I just have changing tastes.

3. What song or songs from ten years ago did you love then, still love now, but haven't heard in a long time?

I guess I haven't broken out k d lang in awhile. And I've neglected Bjork, too.

4. What songs or groups from ten years ago did you not like then, but do like now?

Oh gosh, if you're asking which party I'm late to, I'd have to say I only recently got turned on to Freddie and the Dreamers, but that might not be what you meant, right?

5. How has your taste in music changed in the last ten years?

I listen to more dance and techno and Top 40 than I used to, although not on American radio; mostly Brit and Aussie stations so there's more variety. Just this week, here at Dave's where the lovely fast Internet connection is, I was noodling around listening to international radio stations and heard a song out of Ireland by a fellow named Robb Murphy; the song was called "Further Higher" and I predict very good things for him.
