Just a Friday Five today, I think --

Do you really make wishes when you blow out the candles on your cake?

My cakes would be firetraps if I had a numerically accurate count of candles on it. But the last time I had candles, yes, I blew them out and I made a wish.

Have any of the wishes ever come true, if yes?

Yes, I think so, but I don't remember which ones.

How do you feel about birthdays? (e.g. love the attention, just another day, don't want anyone to know my real age, etc.)

I don't give a shit who knows my age, and I appreciate birthday wishes most of all from people who remember it by themselves, as opposed to relying on something they programmed into their cell phone or got reminded of on Facebook. I also believe in having as many birthdays as possible.

Tell us a favorite gift you've received, or something you'd really like for your next birthday.

Old Buddy Dave got me a little scale model of an Ailsa Craig granite curling stone just this year that absolutely overwhelmed me.

My health would be a nice thing to still have on my next birthday.

What flavor cake?

Pumpkin pie, or there's this jello pudding thing on the back of the box called a Better Than Sex Cake that's pretty good. As for standard cakey cakes, I adore carrot cake.
