Tech And Deaths Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 - 2:53 p.m. I just wanted to post and let people know I am not dead. My VCR is nearly dead, but I'm nowhere in the vicinity of dead. There's a DVD recorder sitting here in the box, waiting for installation, so I guess that's going to be the next thing I do in the living room, techwise. --- The previous techwise thing: The old G4 tower went toes up pretty much completely about three weeks ago when the logic board died. The hard drive has System 9.2.2 on it, making it the only active device in the house that still has the capability to run PageMaker, which John uses for his fanzine production. But the folks at the MAC Berkeley store had a spare old G4 tower in stock, meaning one that was nearly identical to the one our dead drive was in, so they put our old hard drive into that tower and fixed the problem for less than a logic board would have cost. Things work fine again. It's an awesome place to do business. --- That's it from here. See you next time. ---
