Australia 2013 - Part 3

Friday, May. 10, 2013 - 1:56 p.m.

This will mostly be pictures.

On April 17th, Paul and I went on a Captain Cook Lunch Cruise on the Swan River, with the destination of the Water's Edge Winery.

First, we monkeyed around with our cameras in the park in front of the pier:

Heres the tower where the Swan Bells are housed:

Some of the bells it contains are the ones from St Martin On The Fields that were rung when Captain Cook started on the exploration voyage where Australia was discovered.

Once we were underway, we saw where the name of the river came from:

As for our meal, the first course was lemon soup, which was delicious:

And the lunch buffet was simple but elegant and very nummy:

We saw dolphins clustering around a fishing boat to eat the chumming spoils:

We also saw a man and his dog on a riverboard:

The sunshine looked really beautiful when it was reflected off of the water:

We had a very pleasant afternoon, and we'll probably do this again the next time I am there.

---

Here's some images from HQ.

Here is Paul Kidd's infamous die that he calls 'Blood Drinker.' It's been stepped on by not one but two different barefooted dungeonmasters, causing stitches at least once, which is how it acquired its name and reputation:

Paul never played Angry Birds before and was eating Pringles when I loaned him my iPad so he could play the game:

He did really well.

This is the view of Perth from out in front of the homestead. in the picture, the left side is east (where the rest of Australia is), the right side is west (where the ocean is), and the Perth city skyline down there past the trees is south:

Here's what the sunset looked like the night before I returned to the US:

And here's a self portrait with me and whats-his-name.

I didn't take pictures of the trip back to the States because it's arduous, takes around twenty hours of real time, and it always makes me look like a rat that's been poked through a sewer pipe with a stick, so I'll leave you with these.

---

Upon arriving in LAX, customs was pleasant and relatively quick, and Old Buddy Dave let me stretch out and sleep in Anaheim for a couple of days before I got back to San Francisco.

That's pretty much it, kids!

Until next time.
