There And Back... Sunday, Oct. 05, 2003 - 4:31 p.m. Today is the first day I have to go into Gran's house without Gran actually living there. I -think- there are enough coping tools in my mind and heart; I won't know until I actually step through the door. I spent yesterday preparing for today. I scanned in a picture of my grandparents; here it is if you wish to see it. This was taken for their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1979. It's taken me like, forty minutes to write these few lines. I have to go and begin the day in earnest. We have about a three-hour drive, and I have to do a bunch of stuff like get my ID, my marriage certificate, and find my certified copy of my birth certificate, so the attorney handling the estate will believe it's me. We want to try and get up there by noon, and will probably not be there long. Wish me luck, folks. And I'll update this entry as soon as I get a chance to. --- We made the trip there and back safely. I got reacquainted with an old friend, and let me say for the record that it's the height of solace and comfort and wonderfulness to know that there's at least one of you reading this that knows who will be in the picture with me before you go look. :) ---
