The Ides of October Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003 - 8:00 a.m. Well. Golly. Last night, I watched a baseball game the likes of which I don't remember ever seeing before, not even with the San Francisco Giants. The Chicago Cubs had a meltdown of astronomical proportions, and it all started with a call that -should- have been Fan Interference. The fan reached over the wall and caught a ball that would otherwise have landed in the outfielder's glove. But the idiot fan is not the sole reason for the loss -- their opponents, the Florida Marlins, had an eight-run inning. Mumble, mutter. Anyway, now it's off to Game Seven of the playoffs; so because I tend to root for the underdog, I'm going to keep hoping the Cubbies will triumph. --- It's finally COLD here in the morning. Usually, we San Franciscans don't ever have any weather in our weather -- but it's officially 'Nipple Season' now. --- This is an oldie, but maybe you haven't seen this -- It's a synopsis for a famous movie. Guesses may be left in the comments section:
--- Finally, run, do not walk, to your nearest DVD outlet with decent prices, and obtain the special edition of "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy". The program itself is beautifully reproduced -- but the -extras- are amazing. ---
