Merry Solstice!

Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 - 5:20 a.m.

Instead of writing something myself today, I'm going to repost some 'new and improved' lyrics to a Christmas carol. I think you'll enjoy them:

O Solstice Night

words by Anodea Judith

O Solstice Night, the stars are brightly shining
This is the night of the Sun Gods rebirth
Long lay the land in winters darkness sleeping
The seeds of life have returned to the Earth

The Mother waits, the child within her growing
The Sun returns, and Life again is flowing
Call out your dreams / O rise into your vision
This night Divine / O longest night of all
The Sun returns to us / To bring rebirth.

O Solstice Night, the stars are brightly shining
This is the night when we work for rebirth
Long lay the world with fear and fighting growing
Let this begone as light returns to the Earth

The darkness lets us see the death were making
Let peace return as tomorrows dawn is breaking
Long live the Earth / With beasts and forests growing
O Night Divine / O bring us sweet release
This night Divine / We turn the world toward Peace.

Well, today's the day I finally get to meet Todd Thalimer and his wife, Heidi. They are on their way home from a family reunion in southern California, and made a few hours available to be able to have breakfast with us before they make a right turn onto I-80 and head back to Colorado. I'll have the li'l digital camera with me, so yes, there will be pictures, as early as tomorrow here in Diaryland.

There's good driving weather, except for a little fog in the Central Valley, so the meeting as well as their drive home, should go well.

Sorry I don't have time to write a longer entry; got some last minute things to attempt to finish before we see them. :)

Merry Solstice, my friends.
