Surprises Left & Right Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 - 8:00 a.m. Yesterday morning, who should appear on my AIM Buddy List but P@ul Schu!tz. Two months or so ago, we had a 'heated exchange of words' that escalated until we weren't having the argument, the argument was having us -- and he summarily declared that our friendship was over once and for all and to never contact anybody in his neck of the woods again and etcetera and so forth. So yesterday -- he reappeared on my AIM BL after blocking me from being able to see him. We were civilized with one another. I only called him a scrotum once, but other than that there was nothing out of the ordinary to report. Actually, now that I think of it, me calling him a scrotum is also within normal parameters, too. I do have to venture a guess and say that he and I are both on our guard. It's unfortunate that it has to be this way, but, well, that's just the way it has to be. The entire time I was AIMing with Paul, though, I was also over in Yahoo Messenger with Dave Marron. He kept saying he had my back, and other reassuring things of that caliber, so I wasn't too worried. I don't think it's a real friendship -- or in this case, a restoration of one re: Paul -- until both parties no longer feel like they're walking on eggs. Frankly, I have a ways to go until it doesn't feel like that anymore. And I'm still deciding if the journey is going to be worth it. And I bet Paul is, too. --- As for Dave Marron -- I cannot recall -ever- feeling uncomfortable around him, not even if we had to talk about uncomfortable things. I was glad Dave was standing by yesterday morning. --- Yesterday afternoon, I worked on my music. And I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jack Paar. I'm just a little too young to have enjoyed him in his heyday, but he is imprinted on the American popcult psyche, not unlike like John F. Kennedy is. --- Last night, Todd Thalimer popped up over in AIM and said "Hey, THERE you are!" I was sitting over in my recliner and using the laptop, so I logged off and came over to John's computer which has the webcam, and we saw one another for the first time in over a month. He sent me a picture of the two of us, which in my opinion is the best picture taken of me in a very long time. And Toddy looks really good, too. --- My next update to the Cast of Characters page will include a picture of JJ, and a picture of Dave Marron. Stay tuned!... --- Oops, almost forgot -- I slept last night from 10:30 pm to 6:20 am, with NO interruptions. Go me, go me, go me... ---
