Fire With Fire

I apologize for being so late with my post. I was up last night, exhausted and heartsick by this news -- I received the following email last night from the Erasure impostor's latest victim, Kitscuf:

I want to let you know that Andy and I have spoken at length and we met and have decided to renew our friendship.

I would still like to remain friends with you as well.

And here is my response:

Dear Kitscuf --

I will be happy to remain friends with you IF and ONLY IF AndyBell38 and Erasure Fan Club both write emails to you stating that he is NOT the lead singer of Erasure, nor is he Vince Clarke, nor Andy Bell's younger brother, nor is he related in any way whatsoever to the band; that he acknowledges that the websites I have published are accurate, and that he apologize for his actions, and promise in writing never do this again to anyone.

He is to send those emails to you, one from AB38 and one from EFC -- and you are to forward them to me for me to publish on my websites.

In this way, you will see what he thinks your friendship is worth to him. Will he tell the truth if you tell him you want to keep us both as friends?... I am sorry to say I am afraid I already know the answer to this question.

If you cannot get him to do this in the next 24 hours, then because of liability issues, I will be forced to terminate all communication with you until he does it.

My husband says that you could be considered an accessory to the impostor's antics should criminal or tort charges ever be brought against him for the harm he has caused -- by the simple fact that you are choosing to remain friends with him in the face of what he's done to me and to others.

Kindly remember that I have never lied to you.

Thank you.

Oh well. I'm pretty disappointed in this latest development, but there's really nothing I can do about it now.

In the news, I'm hearing where Paul 'Red' Adair died. He was 89.

For those of you who might not know who this is, he's the man who figured out the fastest way to extinguish and cap oil-well fires, and who was protrayed by John Wayne in the movie 'Hellfire'

During the first Gulf War conflict, Iraq blew up hundreds of Kuwaiti oil wells; the estimates for extinguishing them and capping them ranged anywhere from one and a half to three years -- but Red Adair supervised the operation, and the well fires were stopped within a matter of weeks.

And finally, thirty years ago today, Richard Nixon, AKA Tricky Dick became the only US President in history to resign from office. Then Gerald Ford became president, and *he* nominated Nelson Rockefeller to serve as his Vice President, and for the only time in history, we had both a President and a Vice President that had not been elected by the people.

I remember when it happened; I was nine, and at my grandmother's house. She called me in to watch, and said it was history, and told me to remember that day when I'm all grown up.

So that's what I'm doing.
