Friday Five / Mullet Musings Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 - 6:57 a.m. This week's Friday Five: (Questions are boldface, my answers appear beneath.) A: If I knew who to write to so I could request snow that has a freezing temperature of fifty degrees, that would be ideal. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect? A: As long as I can spend it with people I love, it doesn't matter where. Coincidentally, this year, the Solstice is on the 22nd of December, and in fact, that's the day I'll be meeting my long-time online friend Todd Thalimer for the first time. Do you do have any holiday traditions? A: Yes I do. Since I observe the Winter Solstice, at this time I review my actions during the calendar year and try and learn from mistakes, and not needlessly dwell on things that are painful without figuring out how they could have been done in a way that would have been better. Do you do anything to help the needy? A: Yes I do. What one gift would you like for yourself? A: To have one more chance at a friendship I ruined. I figured out what I was doing wrong. OR -- Pink roses. I like pink roses. :)
--- Okay. Now, if you wanna play Friday Five, go here. --- Yesterday I was YMing and camming with Glenn Schmall. He is a sysadmin working right now for the military, so with it being a conservative place to work, he thought it would be best if he got a conservative haircut. But now the weather is cold -- and I think the back of his neck is, too. He typed "I miss my mullet," and my response was "You set your mullet free; if it returns, it will be your mullet forever, but if it does not return, it was never your mullet to begin with." --- It's ten days until I meet Todd and Heidi. In four days, our household is expecting the arrival of a bouncing baby digital camera; I'll spend five days learing how to use the cam and get the software installed on the laptop; then -- digits juxtaposed -- I should be able to take and then download as many pictures as I want to take. I wish I lived in the town of Theory -- because as you know, everything works in Theory. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this. --- Speaking of Todd, he's got the grot today. Please send him good vibes. Thanks. :) ---
