Friday Five / Boxing Day Friday, Dec. 26, 2003 - 2:18 a.m. I think we're going to make an attempt to hit the sales today, but it depends on whether the paralysis from the turkey wears off. Wish us luck! --- I was starting to work on my New Years' resolutions anyway, so here's a good head start: This week's Friday Five: (Questions are boldface, my answers appear beneath.) A: Survival and keeping my humor in the face of deception and pain and loss. And documenting it here on Diaryland so that others can learn from my experiences. What was your biggest disappointment? A: Discovering that one of my closest friends had been lying to me, and that he never owned up to anything he did to me even as the evidence of those lies was presented to him. What do you hope the New Year brings? A: I hope that the person referred to in the preceding answer gets a lingering boil between his anus and his testicles. Oh. And world peace. Yeah. World peace would be nice. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? If yes, what will they be? A: So far, To continue to trust people, even though there's a risk of getting fucked over, to continue to cultivate my online friendships, and to spend more time working on my music. What are your plans for New Year's Eve? A: I don't know yet. I'll probably spend part of the evening filling in the year as "04" on the next ten checks in my register, but aside from that, nothing is set in stone. I have a midnight smooch waiting in the wings for friends across a variety of time zones, but even that's tentative.
--- Okay. Now, if you wanna play Friday Five, go here. --- How was everybody's 25th? Tell me in the comments section if you like. :) --- And finally, happy Boxing Day. This isn't celebrated officially in the USA, but you folks be extra nice to the cashiers and service people you deal with today. This was their hell week, so they deserve to be treated with kindness. ---
