My First Tattoo

Beverages & Oz

Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 - 8:40 a.m.

Have a nice weekend?... Yeah, me too.

---

Here's a link to a product for people who are too busy to chew: Liquid Cereal.

---

Speaking of beverages, I can't for the life of me remember who I was reading or where I saw this, but somebody out there had bemoaned the cessation of the sale of Diet Vanilla Coke in their area.

It may very well be something that is no longer manufactured... but I saw it in Walgreens just last night out here in the Westlake Shopping Center in Daly City.

Let me know if you want me to make a pop run for you for Christmas.

---

"Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first woman she meets and then teams up with three complete strangers to kill again."

Last night I caught about the last 60% of The Wizard Of Oz on TBS, and it occurred to me why this film has remained so popular.

In addition to the ideal casting and the opulent production and effects for its day -- it's a story that is based on a lot of components contained in Joseph Campbell's construction of the classic motif of the mono myth.

Did anybody else notice this? :-)

---

My tattoo is essentially healed, but for a full two-week period after receiving it, I am required to still put Cetaphil on it three times a day. I will suspend this practice on Friday at one pm my time. As things stand right now, I can just barely still find it with my fingertips, but I expect that to cease any day now.

I am interested in what any of the rest of you inked people out there were told about your own aftercare; in my research I have discovered that no two parlors dispense precisely the same aftercare instructions. My own tattoo aftercare instructions were essentially as follows: Keep the bandage on for at least two or three hours afterwards, be gentle and wash it with unscented soap, and keep the area moisturized for two weeks with one of the following unscented lotions: Keri, Curel, Cetaphil. No picking or scratching because that will cause something called 'lacing' or 'holidays'.

So far, so good. I have no regrets. And I know what to expect next time. :-)

---

I think that's it; if at all possible, I hope you have a good Monday.
