Delays & Jewelry Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006 - 2:20 a.m. After over a month of non-regular programming devoted to pledge drives and whatnot, Cinema Insomnia FINALLY returned to the airwaves here in the San Francisco bay area on channel 54. I've missed Mr. Lobo an awful lot! We put on our Space Blood O Vision Glasses and watched "Creature", which is a cheapass knockoff of "Alien". And it's so nice to see the interstitials, because they are sometimes filmed at local comics or sf conventions, and once in awhile we see our fannish friends in the background at WonderCon. --- I'm sore and dusty this morning but it was worth it. I looked through the great big wooden jewelry box that Dad gave to me right after Mom died. I have finally, after nearly twelve years, been able to look through my mother's jewelry. There were a few pieces that I knew about, and in fact, tried to give some to an unappreciative recipient a couple of years back -- but now there's been an official inventory and I'm absolutely stunned. She collected some vintage Trifari parure sets that are absolutely amazing. Yes, they are in a safe place, and yes they are under lock and key. In the hidden drawer, I found her CSF awards, her baby bracelets, and the final license that had belonged to her dog, a Papillion named Wings. I only saw pictures, but Wings was a pretty dog, and died on my mother's first day of college in the fall of 1957. --- Okay, kids, that's it. Have a nice Sunday! ---
