Eye Pod

Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 - 12:36 a.m.

So, on Saturday and Sunday, I woke up with my right eye glued shut because of the conjunctivitis and had to stagger into the bathroom, literally half blind, and conjure a warm washcloth to get unstuck.

But it didn't hurt at all on Sunday, and I think the worst of it is over.

I used to get this problem in my eyes over and over again when I was younger, and this is the first time I've had a problem as an adult.

Hopefully I'm done with this for awhile.

---

Sunday afternoon, John and I saw a movie we'd been hearing about but hadn't viewed, and I think it was wonderful.

Napoleon Dynamite.

Quiet and really nice. It would probably remind me of Local Hero if it were a bit more whimsical.

---

Our state's crops are burning in the cold.

This isn't good at all.

Then again, I've been living out here on the coast so long that I've become unable to grok what real weather is like anymore.

---

So Sunday night, John walks out of the bedroom with a plastic bag with some stuff in it and says "Will your computer be able to make this thing work?..??" .. and in the bag is an iPod.

Apparently, Toren is still in the utterly delightful habit of giving John his older electronics whenever he upgrades.

The answer is yes.

So, my job is to play What's This Button Do and tell John how to drive it so he can enjoy it on the way to work.

Did a little research, and this turns out to be one of the first generation ones with a Firewire docking port on top instead of the pluggy inny wide flat docking port on the bottom. This is okay, though, as long as it does what it's asked. :-)

---

Okay.

Have a Monday.
