Homeward Bound Again Thursday, Mar. 08, 2007 - 11:17 a.m. It feels funny to not be in a hurry. Since I couldn't go sing for Bob last night like I'd planned, Wednesday night opened up and I was able to get packed. My ticket printed out just fine, and I head home at eight tonight. --- The weather is obviously propelled by whatever forces in the universe have taken a dislike to me; the cool late-winter mornings and cloudy afternoons are set to make their return at precisely the minute my plane takes off. Every single time I've been down here, it's been unseasonably warm -- even in SUMMER -- and you'd think I'd learn by now. Nah. :-) --- I've enjoyed my time here, but it will be good to get back to a familiar bed and my showerhead of choice. Not feeling good has sort of been the icing on the bitch-cake, though. But I have to say if I had to have been unwell, this is a pretty good place to do it. Dave's been all but hovering, and if I'd been really REALLY bad off, his roommate Charlie is an EMT. I'm tired of coughing, but under this layer of blubber, I have abs of iron. -- My next sojourn down here will be for my birthday next month. I will be this many (holds up forty-two fingers). Anyway, next post will be from home if all goes well. John will be waiting for me at the airport, with a cold can of Diet Coke, and maybe a Skittle or two. That's it. Have a good Thursday! ---
