Runway And Quiet

Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 - 12:10 a.m.

Well, Season Four of Project Runway is now underway.

So far, I have no idea who is going to carry it, but I do have a good feeling about Rami and Kevin, and Jack.

Found on FARK: A Kentucky woman claims a restaurant asked her family to leave because her crying child was disturbing the other patrons.

Just one question here -- Why can't all restaurants take action like this?

Why do some people with children end up being clueless as to the rights of other people around them?

If I'm sitting in a quiet restaurant, trying to eat, and somebody of *any* age arrives and engages in behavior that is disturbing to others, I *will* complain to the management.

This is only my opinion, of course, which most of the time is only worth the screen it's appearing on, but I believe that anybody of any age who comes to a restaurant needs to be aware of how to behave there.

This means sitting quietly, consuming food and drink without attempting to use either as shampoo or projectiles, and not screaming for prolonged periods of time.

Mind you, I've seen adults act like this, so don't get your panties in a square knot if you believe I am targeting young children.

I think if the establishment felt that if the presence of that family was disturbing the other patrons, that the restaurant had the right to ask that family to go somewhere else, which is what it did.

But then again, I've personally never seen a parent get up from the table and say "Sorry about that; we're going to the car until Little Beelzebub calms down," and take the screaming child out of the restaurant so that the rest of the customers can have a respite from the dinner din.

Happy anniversary Liz and Phil. You rock.

That's it. Have a good Tuesday!
