Don Imus Returns

Monday, Dec. 03, 2007 - 5:00 a.m.

We had a smidgen of rain about a day and a half ago, and my allergies are horrifying; it's actually winter-cold here and the wood stoves and fireplaces are now fired up.

My allergies are superhuman and not very much fun, and yesterday, in about six hours, my nose dripped until about half a box of Puffs With Lotion had been used up.

John was very sweet about things, and did a significant amount of legwork when we made chili last night.

---

Speaking of which, in my few shining moments of clear congestion, that chili was just right.

Not flaming hot, which I can't stand, nor boring as taco filling, which John can't stand.

Just right, and it was genuinely enjoyable to help each other prepare this whopping good batch of red.

---

Welcome back to Don Imus. It's been too long.

As long as the Rutgers women accepted his apology, and he's assured his listenership that he won't let shit like that happen on his program anymore, that's good enough for me.

Anybody it's not good enough for either wants to pick a fight or doesn't believe in freedom of speech and should be ashamed of themselves.

In fact, the only nappy-headed hos this morning are the politicians who have fallen over themselves to get air time on his program.

Especially the ones that never made any public statements indicating they were sad to see him get canned.

---

In other news, hooray, Venezuela opted to keep term limits. This is a significant defeat for the Chavez regime. Let's see what happens now.

Will he let his country's constitution stand, and leave the voting results alone?

---

An excellent Question Of The Week here, from the Memes List link to the left:

Over the course of your life, what have you spent the most time pondering than anything else?

I often think how different my life would have been if I'd listened to my inner voice more often, instead of succumbing to the demands of others. Childhood is one thing, but for a long long time after I became an adult, I still remained out of touch with what I really wanted for myself.

---

Okay, that's it. Have a good Monday.
