Classy Oscars Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 - 1:22 a.m. I was all set to take the Oscars to task because I figured it would be an end to end sparkling turd, but I was happily mistaken. Jon Stewart was a fantastic host. Nothing to complain too badly about except a couple of outfits. The What The Fuck award is shared between Tilda Swinton and Diablo Cody. Classiest Moment: Jon Stewart making sure Marketa Irglova got to come back to the microphone and give her Oscar acceptance speech. Best Neckpiece: Nicole Kidman. Strangest gloves: Julie Christie, whose choice of accessories made her arms look parboiled. Almost But Not Quite: Marian Cotillard's mermaid dress. I'm glad she won, but I just wanted to like that dress more than I did. And I'm not sure what happened to Renee Zellweger's hair. Some of it was left, but geez. Anyway, I'm sure there will be fashion bashin' on television tonight somewhere, so I'll kick back and listen to what the experts think. --- Yesterday was quiet. John and I skipped Wondercon this year and enjoyed being at home. --- I guess that's it! Have a good Monday. ---
