Sunset, Friday Five & 4SJ

Saturday, Dec. 06, 2008 - 12:35 a.m.

John and I went out into the shopping frenzy and did some retail therapy, which was nice.

On the way to the Retail Pirhana Pond known as Westlake Shopping Center, we beheld a beautiful sight, and not shaking hand nor crummy old cell phone could stop the prettiness of a sunset:

The streak isn't a comet, of course -- it's an airline contrail.

---

On Friday night, for the first time in four years, I was not compelled to wait up for Old Buddy Dave to drive home from his gig at Cero's.

He drove past the bar on Friday night, and it is indeed closed with a lock on the door.

About twenty minutes after he had a look, there was an earthquake.

Perhaps the higher powers are upset that Cero's has shut its doors.

---

I shot the popgun too early about a month ago, but unfortunately, Forry Ackerman has now passed away.

---

Friday Five:

Do you like the look of your country's currency (bills and coins)?
Meh. They're prettier than they've ever been, but I'm with Boggs; when are we gonna see a Harriet Tubman bill?

Regardless of their actual value, do you like bills or coins better?
Bills.

What is your favorite foreign currency? And why?
Canadian currency is the stuff I have used / seen the most, but I have a sentimental attachment to the currency from the Netherlands from about 20 years ago.

Do you collect coins or bills? Elaborate.
I collect non-counterfeit USA one hundred dollar bills. Please send me any of them that you can spare. Thank you.

Do you think human society could make do completely without money? Explain.
Well, we *could* and I think in fact we personally have less than ten dollars in the entire house, but I think it will still be awhile before ' foldin' money' goes away completely.

Okay, there ya go. Have a good Saturday.
