Michael Franks Monday, Jun. 22, 2009 - 12:37 a.m. Yesterday afternoon, John and I went to go see Michael Franks in concert, at Yoshi's in Oakland. Friends, if you EVER get a chance to see ANYBODY in concert at Yoshi's in Oakland, do not hesitate. DO IT. This is the very finest musical venue I have ever experienced. What's more, if you get a chance to see Michael Franks in concert anywhere? Please do it. Even if smooth jazz isn't your thing -- just TRUST me on this. --- We went to the show on Sunday night at 7, and we took the Ferry to Oakland and back. The day was beautiful, and everybody we asked for help from was terrific. Did you guys know that the former Presidential ship, the Potomac, is anchored off of Jack London Square, next to the Oakland Ferry Terminal? Rumor has it that Elvis Presley owned it for awhile, but then his big old dry chunky bowel movements broke the latrines and he was so embarrassed, he gave the ship away to charity. We saw it there on Sunday night. What an amazing looking ship! --- Yesterday, I sent a Happy Father's Day ping to every Dad in my cell phone list. That was FUN! I heard back from EVERYBODY, even friends I haven't seen in person since high school! --- All right, that's it. Have a good Monday. ---
