End Of August 2009 Monday, Aug. 31, 2009 - 12:22 a.m. Knock on Formica -- if all goes well, later today, I'll be borrowing a guitar from the boss. For the next two weeks, I'll be seeing if I am remotely qualified to play lead. It will be fun to at least try, even if the effort is a disaster. --- Last night, we had pasta and sourdough garlic bread for dinner. And we watched one of the movies in the excellent BBC adaptation of the stories of Horatio Hornblower. I swear, you guys, Ioan Gruffud should be the next James Bond. Don't get me wrong, the current guy is really good, but I'm rooting for Ioan. --- Congratulations to both teams who got to the championship game of the Little League World Series. Chinese Taipei versus California -- with the USA team winning 6-3. It was an honor to see the coverage of these players in an excellent series and wonderful final game. --- Not much else to write about. It was a quiet and pleasant day here. Have a good Monday. ---
