Car Test Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 - 12:37 a.m. Yesterday, I went to Vacaville by way of the Vallejo Ferry and a vanload of Brownlees who picked me up. Alan met me there with his two youngest; it was nice to see the welcoming committee. --- We hit a drive through on the way to headquarters; procured some lunch, then when we got to Alan's place, we ate, then Alan and I went out into the garage to finish last week's song. It's done. Or at least as done as it's ever going to be; if we each listen, we can still hear extremely minuscule things to fix, but the major problems are all fixed and overall, the song sounds really nice. It was a good day's work. --- The song survived the Car Test, and I played it for John as soon as we were settled in upstairs after Alan had dropped me off. John says it sounds light years better than last week's rendition; Alan had been noodling around with it and fixing what he could while the week passed. So, Alan engineered my vocals once again, and we were both much happier with how things sounded. --- Alan's also asked me to pick out some of his other songs to digitally remaster; he's got about a half dozen excellent prospects that we could work on first. That's more than I can say for myself. --- It's been a day. I'm tired but full. And very very glad of Sunday's accomplishments. --- That's it. Have a good Monday. ---
