This & That Monday, Dec. 06, 2010 - 12:22 a.m. I'm a solo artist again, without a songwriting partner. We gave it the old college try, but Alan does this, and I do that. So. Oh, well. Oddly enough, we'll still be working together on each other's solo stuff, trading off engineering and backing vocals. --- The rest of the weekend was tranquil and productive. John cut my hair for me again for the first time since October, so it will be settled down in a month or so when I go see some fannish friends for the first time in twenty years. Some of them even thought I was gone from fandom. "Glad she's back," said one of them. Actually, I never left. No, I had the best gig in the world -- John and I sold Studio Proteus manga for over a decade -- but it was in a different sector than where I'd established fannish roots. My goodness, but there's never enough crossover between one genre and another, is there? Sigh... --- Speaking of fandom -- hey, look here! It's a pleasant and reasonable writeup of Midfur! One of my oldest friends goes to this event when he can; this year I received pictures and mini con reports from him at the end of each day. It looks like fun! --- And over here, we have a framed letter from the nice Cash4Gold people. If you can't read the text, save it to your desktop and zoom in if at all possible; it's worth it. --- That's quite enough. See you next time. ---
