Rock And Roll

Tuesday, Mar. 16, 2004 - 7:45 a.m.

So yesterday afternoon when he comes home from work, John broaches the delicate subject of my breath to me. "I noticed in Diaryland yesterday you said something about your bad breath," he says. "I've been trying to figure out a way to tell you about this for weeks now."

Weeks. Weeks, he says.

"Thank you very much," I said. "And how much longer had you planned on allowing me to pollute the planet before you finally -said- something, dear heart?"

"Well, I don't know," said John.

That's nice, dear.

Anything else you haven't told me about yet, sweetie? :)

Yesterday was the big score. We found a comforter in the size and color we wanted -- king sized in pale green -- on sale for twenty dollars.

The excursion to Tar Zhay was a little spendy, but I really am happy with what we got. I bought the first new makeup I've purchased in a very long time, a bunch of samples of bath gel, and for John, I purchased the widescreen version of Schindler's List, which is one of his favorites.

---

In the news: Several new inductees are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, among them, Prince, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger, and ZZ Top.

About the latter, from the AP: "Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards gave a semi-coherent induction speech, praising the band's consistency and longevity. Richards wore a colorful headband and what appeared to be a collection of jewelry and fishing lures hanging from his hair."

I've never seen Keith Richards and Anjelica Huston in the same room, people. I think this bears further investigation.

But it sure sounds like it was a hell of a party. :)

Finally -- two days, and then Cheri is here. It seems as if we've been looking forward to this forever, and now, here it is.

I'm glad.
