Hey, I just saw the video for 'How Does It Feel' by Blue Monday. I could have sworn I saw the first batch of Wegman Weimerauners in that video.

Had a really good IM earlier this morning with Bob, who has the Ministry Of Shadows diary.

We were having a discussion about the Da Vinci Code movie and the people who were protesting it.

Brin In SF (2:38:57 AM): i'm like, gee, if you are a person of faith, don't things like this make you STRONGER?
modusnick (2:39:19 AM): Yeah, it's called APOLOGETICS, and the Church used to teach it.
modusnick (2:40:36 AM): But, come on, watching DaVinci Code isn't gonna turn me into a Bible-thrashing Atheist any more than watching Harry Potter makes me a wizard.
modusnick (2:41:21 AM): "The Force has a strong influence on the weak-minded."
Brin In SF (2:41:38 AM): well, you know, the Force has a strong influence on the weak-minded.

And then Bob smiley winked at me. :-)

We also pondered the judgement regarding the exit exam.

What about the immigrant kids who also don't speak english at home but who are thriving and able to pass the exit exam?

What should be done with these little hooligans?

How dare they show off like this. To paraphrase something Bob said in IMs, make them close those books and play Grand Theft Auto at once!

In fact, here is an idea. Let's take the most overweight child in the P.E. class and measure everybody else according to what that child weighs. Then, during exercises, everybody else in the class will wear diving belts with weights that have been adjusted accordingly so that everybody will weigh the same when they exercise. They do the same for race horses with smaller jockeys; perhaps it's time we started doing this to children in phys ed so no overweight child will ever feel ostracized and put down ever again.
