GMST Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 - 3:30 a.m. The media gods giveth and the media gods taketh away. Even though I own the series on DVD, I was still somehow very happy to see the original series of Star Trek back in late night syndication. Although, unfortunately, according to Old Buddy Dave, it seems to be the version with the 1978 edits. Nuts. --- Holy shit! I spoke too soon! I saw a newly digitized Enterprise fly through the tag credits! So, the Frankendithering has begun. However I was happy to see they left 'Scpipt Supervisor' alone. All right. If it's not too drastic and they use lube and send flowers, I guess I could learn to live with Genetically Modified Star Trek. It's just WEIRD. --- Just when I think I'm done with my CD, along comes another song. I have very nearly 40 minutes of material and that's as long as Sgt Pepper. I could officially go to press now, I reckon, except I have the annoying habit of continuing to monkey with what's already done. Arghgh. --- It's finally cooling off, and the air does not smell like smoke anymore. My allergies are grateful. --- There's been a milestone on my soap. I've been watching Days Of Our Lives for thirty years, and for twenty years, Bo and Hope have been the Resident Supercouple. Their son Shawn has just had a DNA test, and has been found to have fathered a child. This means... Bo and Hope are GRANDPARENTS. Holy moly. That realization aged me more than anything else has this year, I think. --- John and I had a lovely weekend. Sometimes doing absolutely nothing is the healthiest thing you can do for yourself, isn't it? Have a good Monday. ---
