Halloween itself was quiet in Dave's neighborhood.

I saw only one ghastly sight here, but it was extremely memorable.

A little car zoomed into the cul de sac and screeched to a halt. Two enormous teenage females got out. They were carrying pillowcases stuffed with candy.

And I can't even think of words in english to describe what they looked like. Remember the ballerina hippos in the cartoon? Yeah. Kind of like that. Except slutty and not graceful at all.

Spandex is a privelege, and those two putas had no business adorning themselves with it.

I played dead. Lights out, hold still, don't look out the window until the danger has passed.

There is now legislation on the books of various states that prevent the Westboro Baptist Church, headed by Fred Phelps, from engaging in certain forms of protest.

While I vehemently abhor and detest the entire methodology of the Westboro Baptist Church and am revulsed by every bit of their chosen forms of expression, I have to question the rulings against what is essentially an extreme form of preaching.

This country is not supposed to be in the business of determining through legislation what are and are not acceptable forms of preaching.

This will be something that the courts hash out for many years to come -- especially since a significant percentage of the founding members of the Westboro Baptist Church are attorneys-at-law.

Today is my last day in Anaheim. I'm already packed.

And except for everything being covered in a dust cloud for about half of my visit, I had a very good time.

Thanks, Old Buddy Dave, for being a gracious host.

And thanks to John, who taped South Park for me while I was away.

Anaheim is always nice, but San Francisco is home.

---

That's it. Have a good Thursday!
