Hourglass & Ship

Thursday, Nov. 08, 2007 - 12:47 a.m.

Look at this.

Prince, formerly called The Artist Fomerly Known As Prince, has threatened to sue fan-based websites who have pictures of him.

Let me get this straight. Prince has chosen to be a public figure. Nobody forced him to make his demo and work his gorgeous tight little ass off and get famous for his handshake-only ethics. As such, he is subject to being photographed, parodied, and, gods help us all, ADMIRED.

If a fan takes a picture of Prince in a public place, they own the image they created when they snapped the picture.

That's been the law of the land for quite awhile, and it probably won't change.

I have to wonder what he is thinking when he treats his public this way.

Today is the 42nd birthday of Days Of Our Lives.

It premiered about seven months after I did. I've been watching it since I was around twelve years of age, and according to reports, it's finally going to wind down in 2009.

That's a good run. I hope to last beyond two more years, though.

Did you guys see the story about the cargo ship crashing into one of the pillars of the Bay Bridge?

Nobody got hurt, but the ship sustained damage, as did the protective material around the pillar.

It was very foggy in the morning when the wreck happened, and the cause is still under investigation. The bar pilot is a 25-year veteran of this profession, but it's possible that the tide might have forced the ship a little too far to the left; ships this size have to measure their braking and moving in miles and it's obvious that a correction didn't occur in time.

All we have to do is figure out why now. I'm going to venture a guess that it might have been mechanical failure of some sort.

All rightie, that's it. Have a nice Thursday.
